From: George: New York, NY | Matt: Baltimore, MD

Style: George: House, electro, mash-up | Matt: house, uplifting house, tech

Best Known For: George: Taking the trendy club scenes in NY and DC by storm with his open-style of house mash-ups | Matt: With only a year and change under his belt Matt has opened for Kaskade, Avicii, Afrojack in Spain, Dirty South, Max Vangeli and David Berrie.

From NY to DC nightlife, but he didn’t have to take the Chinatown bus… George Garcia arrived at GW in 2006 on the back of a business degree, a pair of cleats and a mixer. He took no time in diving into the local house circuit. Within two years he found himself running parallel with those Chinatown buses, working residencies in NY at Azza Lounge and D’or as well as spinning here in The District. It was around that time he hung up the cleats and let the bass take over.

2009 saw George spinning everything from a Playboy fashion show to a US Tennis Association after party. He spun celebrity parties for everyone; Wimer Valderamma to Wu-Tang; Sean Kingston to Ovi. 2010 saw him spinning at Glow. It’s about time he headlined Fur!

Matt Goldman is climbing the ladder to success, escalator style. From the moment he got behind the 1s and 2s it was clear he had a natural affinity for spinning records. In just over a year he has gone from complete unknown to opening for Afrojack (in Spain), Avicii, Kaskade, Max Vangeli and David Berrie. He is the quintessential example of how combining time, a focused effort and networking can yield amazing results. He doesn’t push too hard, he lets his music do the talking. He is spinning at Glow because he comes highly recommended. We listened to his mixes, the music doesn’t lie. Matt Goldman is proof that ‘making it’ doesn’t entail guerilla promoting through facebook or shoving demos in someones face. It is the result of cool, calm and collected networking combined with intense training. You want to arrive early for this.

GEORGE:

Hanging up his cleats and bidding farewell to the soccer field, George Garcia has found another way to entertain and impact masses of people. George has become one of the younger, more recognized DJ’s in the scene and is not taking his pedal off the gas anytime soon. Couple together a love and appreciation for all music with an adrenaline filled desire to bring joy to people, and you pinpoint what shape his performances and have gained him recognition.

George found his relationship with music early on in life by being an active part of his family parties and being raised in an energetic, happy environment that embraced music at all times. He was first exposed to music and Latin rhythms as a child. Having his father as the main source of entertainment at parties, whether it be dancing or making sure that everyone was always on their feet, taught George to always keep the people moving. At the age of 13 George began DJing alongside friends for graduation parties, sweet sixteen events, bar mitzvahs, weddings, and house parties. As George grew older he began to perform and travel to different places, performing at private events and competitions to develop recognition for the sole purpose of providing people with a reason to move and dance.

In 2006, George made the decision to attend the George Washington University and enroll in the School of Business. By moving to Washington D.C., he embraced a new crowd, a new environment, a new scene, and a new city full of listening ears. George wanted to take advantage of this and make an impact right away. He took his first steps in D.C. by spinning at venues such as KStreet Lounge, Eyebar, Lotus, Five, and Indebleu now known as STIR. The reaction and warmth from the crowd is what first impacted George and motivated him to produce the energy that he does with his music.

With clubs in his hometown of New York such as Pacha NY, Cielo, Kiss & Fly, 1Oak & Central being his main influences, George was presented with the blueprint for an enjoyable & energetic performance. The summer of 2008 triggered the success that George has been able to have. Holding his first residencies at Azza Lounge & D’or in New York presented George with the opportunity to travel between New York & Washington to perform. That summer is when George decided to put his life-long passion of playing soccer to pursue music professionally and to fulfill his long desired dream of being an artist. DJs such as Erick Morillo, Victor Calderon, DJ AM, Robbie Rivera, DJ Berrie, Richie Santana, Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, DJ Enferno, David Guetta & DJ Camilo have been among the major influences in George’s career and style. These influences, along with his love for house music, feeding off the sensation of the crowd, his Latin energy, and addiction to drums have contributed to George’s unique style that have gotten him where he is today: able to make any crowd put in front of him move.

George has provided the entertainment for events such as Playboy Swimwear’s Fashion show, Inaugural Events during the 2009 Inauguration, Buzzing 4 Change –Cancer Fundraiser, and the USTA Tennis Final after party. George has performed for artists such as Sean Paul, Sean Kingston, Busta Rhymes, Wilmer Valderrama, Clinton Portis, the Wu-Tang Clan, Antawn Jamison, Michael Jordan, Rosario Dawson, and Alexander Ovechkin. George began his career in New York City in 2008 as resident at New York hotspots Azza and D’or & currently maintains residencies at the hip & trendy lounge La Zarza, as well as Su Casa. In Washington, he maintains residencies at renowned venues such as Josephine, KStreet, Current, Spot, & Stir. Since 2008, George has performed in New York at venues such as Hudson Terrace, Room Service, Greenhouse, Su Casa, Aspen Social Club, 49 Grove, D’or, Highbar, La Zarza, Corio, Azza, Anchor Bar, Central, & Cavo. In Washington, George has performed at Josephine, Napoleon, Spot, KStreet Lounge, Park at 14th, Stir, Five, Lotus, Andalu, Current, Eyebar, Donovan House Roof Terrace Champions, Left Bank, Heaven & Hell, and many more. George has also been mentioned in newspapers such as the New York Post and the Times Ledger. Along with being a deejay, George is also one of the original founders of, EZeeDJ, established in the summer of 2009.

MATT:

At just 22 years old, Matt Goldman has quickly emerged as one of the most skilled up- and-coming DJs on the East Coast. In just over a year, this self-taught musician has made progression that is unparalleled in such a short amount of time.

Growing up in Baltimore, Maryland, it wasn’t until he started college that he was introduced to house music. In fact, he grew up playing the piano and listening to classic rock; The Beatles, The Who, and The Rolling Stones. “When I was introduced to house music my freshman year, I immediately fell in love. It was totally different than anything I had listened to throughout my entire life. I was so intrigued and I wanted to learn everything I could about the genre, so I did.”

At that time, however, he was still just a listener. “I always thought about it, but it was only a little over a year ago that I finally decided to learn how to DJ. I used a simple MIDI controller and spent countless hours each day practicing and learning the fundamentals of DJing. Fortunately, I picked it up pretty quickly, and it was clear to me early that I had a chance to be successful.”

In just one year, Matt has repeatedly landed himself performances at some of the hottest nightclubs on the East Coast; Eden (D.C.), Fur (D.C.), Mosaic (Baltimore), and monthly bookings at the famed Pacha (NYC). He has played alongside some of the biggest names in house music, including Kaskade, Dirty South, David Berrie, Avicii, and Afrojack. For Matt, it’s all about the music, and this has been the true key to his success.

In November 2010, Matt’s “November Mix”, which includes tracks from Avicii, Dirty South, Axwell, and many others, became a huge viral success, receiving over 4,000 downloads in its first week. He has been featured on blogs such as Chubby Beavers, The Campus Socialite, Vinyl Penetration, I Can Give You House, Big10HouseMafia, and Club Planet.

Don’t let the big-name selection of artists on his podcast fool you though. Matt’s real passion lies in the underground subgenres of the house music world. No set would be complete without a strong presence of unknown gems amongst the widely accepted crowd pleasers. The smoothness of his transitions is unmatched and his work ethic is tireless. There’s a lot to expect from Matt in 2011 as he brings his passion for house music to clubs all over the world, with upcoming bookings in Indiana, Barcelona, Rome, Florence, and Punta Cana.

His talents were noticed by some big names, and soon he found himself touring globally with Madonna as her official DJ on the Sticky and Sweet tour!

David Berrie (Chroma)

Just signed to Ultra Records, David Berrie has been blowing up the club scene across the United States and around the world! From his humble beginnings as a basement DJ, he’s come a long way. Today he’s playing at huge clubs like Tao, Webster Hall, and Liv Miami. He plays for major corporations like GQ and Vogue, and rubs elbows with Diddy, Kanyke, 50 Cent, and more.

The son of famous toy manufacturer Russell Berrie, David grew up with the opportunity to do anything he wanted… including nothing. He took piano and violin lessons early on, eventually landing at something a bit cooler, turntables.

Inspired by NY icons like Louie Vega, Danny T, A Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul; by 16 Berrie had honed his skills and was sneaking out of the house to spin at small clubs in Manhattan. From there it was cake.

Been There, Done That: Having performed events for Diddy, Giselle, GQ and Esquire, Berrie’s inner talent eventually came bursting out. With all that instrumental training and all that NY influence, it was only a matter of time before he traded the posh VIP scene for the infectious, let it all hang out world of electronic dance music.

From: USA (Vermont)

Style: progressive, vocal house

Famous Track: The Longest Road, Fight for You, Nadia Ali – Fantasy (Morgan Page Remix)

Best Known For: Being a ridiculous engineer and a 2011 Grammy nomination for his Fantasy remix.

Fresh off a 2011 Grammy nomination for his remix of Nadia Ali – Fantasy (click the music tab for the music video!), American progressive dance master Morgan Page is back in DC to continue what he started in January. Glow’s first booking of the year, Morgan gave us the kick start we needed to head into an amazing 2011.

The highly sought after producer and remixer – whose recent remixes include tracks for Adam Lambert, La Roux, Madonna, and Katy Perry – has developed a style all his own, merging punchy beats with strong melodies and structure that connects with dance music veterans and newcomers alike.

With everything from La Roux to Avicii and Sebastian Ingrosso; Afrojack to Way out West and Dresden & Johnston in his set lists, Morgan Page brings a flare for the smooth, progressive, melodic style of dance music taking over the world!
{tab=Bio}
With over 110 remixes to his name—including tracks by Madonna (“Miles Away”), Katy Perry (“I Kissed A Girl”), Tegan & Sara (“Back In Your Head”), and La Roux (“Bulletproof”)—Morgan Page has earned a solid reputation for transferring insatiable pop energy to the dance floor in the form of banging, progressive house tracks. High ranking spots on iTunes’ dance chart, Beatport’s progressive chart, and Billboard’s club charts affirmed his salability, while an ’09 Grammy nomination for Deadmau5’s remix of Page’s “The Longest Road” simultaneously bolstered his underground cred while spotlighting his skills as a songwriter.

Page released his first official full-length album in 2008. Entitled Elevate, it featured remixes of music by The Submarines, Dengue Fever, Nelly Furtado, Delerium, and others, along with a small handful of Page’s originals. It was the perfect calling card for a producer well steeped in vocal re-rubs, but eager to imprint his own unique mark upon dance music.

Earlier this year, Page released Believe, a powerful, captivating album that makes good on his International Dance Music Awards nomination as Best Breakthrough Artist, and typifies his journey from bootleg remixer to award-winning producer and world renown DJ.

“Believe took a year and a half to make, but it was worth it!” says Page. “I went to great lengths to make songs I felt will last a long time, and to create an album you want to listen all the way through. It’s easily my best work so far.”

As a college student and mix show radio DJ in Burlington, Vermont, Page learned to navigate the space between pop music’s accessibility and the heady minimalism of progressive house early on. At the age of 18 he was nominated for Boston Music Award, and early in his career produced a remix of “Angels,” a track by seminal trip-hop band Wax Poetic, featuring the vocals of one Norah Jones. The dance community was quick to catch on, and his first instrumental tracks were signed to taste-making imprints like John Digweed’s Bedrock, Satoshi Tomiie’s Saw Recordings, and James Zabiela’s Hearing Aid. In 2003, he made the move to Los Angeles.

“I was juggling remixes with a day job, then brewing coffee at midnight,” says Page, “burning the candle at both ends and saving money so I could write music full-time.”

The landscape dramatically shifted for Page when he released a now infamous collection of bootleg remixes in 2005 entitled Cease And Desist. Without the help of master tapes (or label permission) he extracted a cappellas and signature melodies from tracks by David Bowie, Coldplay, Imogen Heap, Esthero, and The Kills with surgical precision, then rounded out the sound with luminous instrumentation and blazing beats. His undulating progressive feel and strict attention to kit detail—never the same kick drum twice, ever—was a perfect compliment to the larger than life vocal hooks. Dance music blogs like Resident Advisor and Beatportal took note, and Page’s own server continually crashed under the weight of the mix’s download traffic.

“It was like going to boot camp,” says Page of the arduous process behind creating Cease And Desist. “It was a great way of getting good at editing with limited resources, and it got out to so many people. You just didn’t know who was listening to it.”

Everyone from DJs and producers to managers, agents, and of course fans got their hands on the album, and its underground success helped pave the way for music future placements in television shows like Samantha Who? and Melrose Place, as well as cutting edge campaigns and in-stores for Bebe, Chanel, and Sephora. With his resume and repertoire quickly expanding, Page struck again with the release of Elevate, an album that KCRW DJ and electronic music pundit Jason Bentley described as “a breakthrough collection of original music and remixes” full of “subtle electronics and thoughtful songs.” Jo-Anne Greene from All Music Guide was even more forthright in her praise, referring to Page as “a man fast becoming a legend.”

Having long jettisoned his status as an up-and-comer, Page is ready to step into the next phase of his career, firmly joining the ranks of established “triple threat” DJs, producers, and remixers like Kaskade, Deadmau5, and Eric Prydz. It’s no surprise that the dance music scene is already buzzing about Believe.

“Fight For You” is the album’s first single, and is already being supported by world class DJs like Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, Above and Beyond, Dave Dresden, and Hernan Cattaneo. Bolstered with impassioned lyrics and swift, clean guitars, the track embodies Believe’s fragile yet faithful feel, pushing through wistful cinematic shades to the promise of something better up ahead.

“Believe is very dark, but I’m not a dark person at all,” Page explains. “I just lean towards these specific chords and melodies. Melancholy with a little bit of hope.”

The Pete Yorn cover “Strange Condition,” a simple, spatial arrangement that highlights Page’s ability let his vocalists control the direction of a song, and not be driven towards emotional peaks and valleys by just synths and bass. Page uses a similarly subtle approach on “Tell Me Why,” featuring the velveteen vocals of Télépopmusik’s Angela McCluskey. Elsewhere, Page enlists the talents of Matt Alber on “Agnus Dei” and Gabriel & Dresden alum Jan Burton on “Traces Remain” and the raucous “I’ve Had Friends.” On the moody “In The Dark,” Page himself takes a turn on the mic at the urging of another G&D contributor, Molly Bancroft, who was initially tapped to provide the vocals. For Page, it was simply the next logical progression in his maturation as a producer.

“I want to work with singer/songwriters who have depth to their lyrics, and I’m trying to bring influences in from other genres,” says Page. “It’s tragic to see all the tracks on Beatport that are just made for clubs. They’re great for what they are, but it’s not necessarily something you want to have in your car on repeat, or listen to again in 10 years. This album is really a reflection of myself, and I want these songs to last a long time.” {tab=Video}

Famous Tracks: Float Away, Closer to the Sun, We Live for the Music, Back to Zero, Girlfriend

Best Known For: Throwing the best party year in and year out at WMC… Juicy Beach.

With WMC and Ultra Fest right around the corner, Robbie Rivera is gearing up for Miami’s #1 beach party. Juicy Beach @ Nikki Beach is the hottest thing south of DC. The 2011 line up includes Robbie, Tocadisco, Joachim Garraud, Thomas Gold, Pleasurekraft, George Acosta, EDX, Marcus Schossow and more!

Every time the father of Miami house hits DC nightlife the club erupts to the uplifting spirit of Robbie’s signature Miami-style house.

This event is not to be missed. Come on out and SQUEEZE that JUICE!!! {tab=Bio}
Robbie Rivera, born in 1973 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, had his first encounter with music when he was only 10-years-old. Buying records from acts like New Order, Depeche Mode and U2, it wasn’t long before he started spinning records. “I was 13 and had two turntables and a mixer,” he says. “I did not know what beat mixing was until it happened accidentally. I taught myself.”

While improving upon his mixing skills, he took his first steps in producing music the old fashioned way. Said Rivera, “When I was about 15 years old, the richer kids had the instruments. One of my friends let me use his Roland drum machine all the time and he eventually gave it to me. I also had a real drum kit in my room.” Steadily, he moved on. “I was sequencing beats at 16 and doing my own edits of tracks using a two track reel-to-reel machine.” He continues, “Yes, it was real tape-splicing editing, back the! Definitely not computer kid’s stuff!”

In 1992, Robbie moved to Miami, and in 1996, he released his first record, a real Latin house track on Juicy Music, titled, “El Sorrullo.” The track lead to an endless string of productions which were released on established labels like Subliminal, Filtered, Positiva, Mos, Azuli and Strictly Rhythm. His music was licensed everywhere. “My track, ‘Bang,’ was my first crossover hit, and cuts like “Sex” and “Funkatron” were huge for me at that time. I consider it a highlight in my career that ‘Funkatron’ was used for the closing of the Victoria’s Secret winter fashion show on CBS-TV, while ‘Bang’ reached #13 on the UK charts and made it to the ‘Top 10′ in Australia.”

All of this success pushed Rivera towards an important step. He said, “I had to continuously shop my music everywhere, and I got tired doing that. That’s the reason, in 1998, I officially established my own label, Juicy Music.” The label also gave Rivera the tools to identify Juicy Music’s philosophy. In Rivera’s own words, the Juicy Music sound is, “Tough, sexy, house music!” Nineteen-ninety-eight was also the fortuitous year Rivera wed his long-time sweetheart and current business partner, Monica Olabarrieta. Together, they run the Juicy Music imprint.

Rivera’s first big name remix for Faithless, “Bring My Family Back,” introduced him to an ever growing audience. Many remixes followed, and artists like Felix Da Housecat, Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Gabriel & Dresden, Moloko, Bob Sinclar, Benny Benassi, Sinead O’Connor, Ferry Corsten, Ricky Martin, Santana, Steve Angello, Coburn, Superchumbo, David Guetta, Tocadisco, Pink and Basement Jaxx came clamoring to enlist Rivera’s prowess.

Rivera released his first artist album, Do You Want More, which became an acclaimed success. The cut, “Which Way You’re Going” hit the Billboard chart, while his big room anthem, “Float Away” (re-released in 2007) became a global big-seller.

In 2008, Rivera’s appropriately titled second artist album, Star Quality, was cruising on the dance charts and was picked up for major global releases later that year. The album included, “Back to Zero” and “Move, Move,” two tracks that were favored by fellow big hitters such as David Guetta, Paul van Dyk, Tiësto and Rivera himself, whose crowds sing along to the melodies. The two huge tunes gained traction at WMC (Winter Music Conference) and went on to have music fans humming all summer as they appeared on that year’s most popular mix compilations: Cream mixed by van Dyk, F*** Me I’m Famous by Guetta, Pure Pacha by Pete Tong, Gatecrasher, and Juicy Ibiza mixed by Robbie Rivera. Other releases like, “Aye, Aye, Aye” feat. C+C Music Factory, “One Eye Shut” feat. Laura Vane, and “Escape,” also form part of Rivera’s impressive repertoire since their release.

Rivera’s distinctive brand of sexy, pounding, dirty, electro-tinged house music ignites dance-floors across the globe, while the world’s top artists queue up to have Robbie put his sound to their tracks. Touring nonstop, Rivera’s music regularly packs dancefloors throughout Ibiza, Barcelona, South America, Poland, Puerto Rico, NYC, Brazil, Los Angeles, Chicago, London, Asia, Italy, Tunisia, Canada, Moscow, Australia, Vienna, and of course, his hometown of Miami.

An unabashed workaholic, Rivera is busy in his recording studios when not touring. He incorporates the sounds he hears on-the-road into his music. But the jewel in Rivera’s crown is his label, Juicy Music. Juicy Music’s roster includes artists as diverse as: Antoine Clamaran, Coburn, Superchumbo, Mark Knight, David Guetta, Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, Stonebridge, and emerging talent, such as Willie Morales, Paul Harris, Louie Padilla, Rooster & Peralta, and DMS12.

Since 2005, Rivera and his wife and business partner, Monica, have been the driving forces behind the world-renown Juicy Beach party at WMC in Miami each March. The 17-hour events at Nikki Beach Club attract a cast of over 7,500 clubbers as well as A-list DJs, and the party has gone on to become one of the week’s most successful events. Likewise, the Juicy Ibiza parties in Ibiza welcomed up to 6,000 clubbers at Amnesia’s beautiful terrace in years past and at Privilege in 2009. The Juicy brand is expanding to new territories, including: within the U.S. (i.e. New York, Los Angeles, Chicago); the UK; and Spain, with new locations being added.

Rivera was voted “Best House Producer” by Beatport and “Best Remixer” by the IDMA Awards (International Dance Music Awards) in 2008. In 2009, Rivera released the fourth Juicy Ibiza compilation, and the release hit the ‘Top 5′ in iTunes sales globally, buoyed by the record deals with Black Hole Recordings and Ultra Records. With a residency at Privilege in the summer of 2009, Rivera saw success with the release of his latest artist album, Closer To The Sun (Ultra/Black Hole). The album garnered critical praise and a great deal of media attention within the U.S. and internationally, with hit singles that included “Closer To The Sun,” “Let Me Sip My Drink” feat. Fast Eddie, “Rock The Disco” and “We Live For The Music.” Those tunes succeeded at radio, on the dancefloor, and also thrived amongst fellow DJs in their respective record crates. Additionally, Rivera’s remixes for Nelly Furtado’s “Manos Al Aire” and Basement Jaxx’s “Raindrops” have also been hammered by Tiësto, Yazz, and the Plastik Population. It’s 2010, and of his plans for the rapidly approaching future, Robbie Rivera has only this to say, “I’ll keep making quality music! Period.”

From: USA (NYC)

Style: House music in all its forms, always sexy

Famous Tracks: Another Chance, Lost, 2gether, Free, Bang that Box

Best Known For: Long sets, sexy crowds and hands in the air

DJ Mag Rank: 64

2010 saw a host of new high-profile collaborations with the likes of Afrika Bambaataa, Maroon 5, Natalia Kills, and… Danny from McFly.

The Release Yourself Ibiza club night at Amnesia also celebrated ten slick, successful years, signalling an island resurgence for Sanchez. Live shows (featuring numerous spins of his chunky, B-52s-sampling single ‘2Gether’) have been a staple part of the last 12 months, be they his own mammoth Release Yourself sets or performances from his Stealth label roster. “This summer we did three Stealth beach parties at La Plage which were very, very sexy. That was one of my high points of the year,” he purrs.

And what of the future for a DJ with as big a sense of ambition as Sanchez? “I’m really looking forward to 2011. I’ve got a lot of big things coming with a lot of major artists.”

We wouldn’t expect anything less.{tab=Bio}

Head bobbing to the beat, sunglasses glinting as strobes illuminate and lasers scan the room, Roger Sanchez surveys the scene… The club is a carnival of colour… And emotion. When he’s DJing, re-edits banging, a cappellas soaring – and especially when he’s producing – the S-Man seems to create emotion out of thin air. The club is a carnival of colour… And emotion. When he’s DJing, re-edits banging, acappellas soaring – and especially when he’s producing – the S-Man seems to create emotion out of thin air and will open a world with a magical dark cabaret atmospere. Magic has the power to suspend disbelief and has been an inspiration to artists throughout the ages. No wonder, then, that the multi-award-winning artist from Queens, New York has chosen cabaret noir as the 2009 theme with magical elements to Release Yourself!

‘2009 is a year of big change for Release Yourself,’ says Roger. ‘We’ve moved our Ibiza base to Amnesia and are currently looking forward to giving clubbers a really good time out there. We’ve also been really busy shaping Release Yourself Volume 8 into something extraordinary that reflects our passion for partying and the music we love. The Pre-Party and Party selections are pretty intense, so let the fun and magic commence!’

For almost a decade Roger’s Release Yourself concept has reinvented itself – and not only as an annual compilation, cherry-picked ‘n’ mixed by the master himself to showcase what’s hot and what’s going to be hot in house. Release Yourself is also a radio show with over 1.5 million listeners, and a pioneering International Dance Music Awards (IDMA) winning podcast that can now boast over 85,000 downloads per show. Plus, as all party aficionados know, Release Yourself is a full-on cosmopolitan event that embodies Roger’s rich musical heritage, the output of his label Stealth Records and his adventurous Latin spirit. These parties are set apart by their sumptuous design and, of course, Roger’s signature marathon DJ sets.

Release Yourself club nights are renowned as some of the most epic and well produced on the party island of Ibiza. After blowing up at El Divino in 2001 the party relocated to Pacha, and from summer 2009 the show will continue every Tuesday from 23rd June at Amnesia, IDMA winner of Best Global Club for the past three consecutive years. Here you will be able to enjoy the magic and splendour of Release Yourself out on the revamped terrace of Amnesia, as Armin van Buuren’s Armada night continues its charge inside. This year Release Yourself at Amnesia in Ibiza is the base for a series of parties in Miami, London and Amsterdam.

Roger kicked off 2009 with the release of Roger Sanchez 3D, a triple mix album for Renaissance. Then there was Miami WMC, where peers such as David Guetta and even top pop sensation Ricky Martin stopped by to witness Roger’s storming seven-hour Release Yourself set at Mansion. There was also the Stealth Live! party at Set, which was probably the label’s best ever WMC event. Making Miami even more special was the sunny success of ‘I Can’t Live Without Music’ by The Transatlatins (aka Roger Sanchez and Ibiza’s DJ Oliver) featuring songstress India, on Stealth. Described by journalist Lewis Dene as ‘massive in Miami’, with ‘summer longevity assured’, ‘I Can’t Live Without Music’ went on to secure a #1 slot in the DMC Buzz Chart.

Release Yourself is taking its direction from 2009’s theme of magic, and cabaret with a dark twist – a cabaret noir. As usual the artwork is stunning and this time around is based on a photo shoot that Roger completed with the amazingly talented Dutch photographer Erwin Olaf, whose previous clients includes Diesel, Elle and The New York Times.

Next on Stealth, featuring ‘I Can’t Live Without Music’ – alongside no less than eight exclusive new tracks! – is the 2CD Release Yourself Volume 8. Part one is Roger’s Pre-Party collection. Here, making fine company for the likes of Faithless and Mike Monday, you have exclusive tracks from Tuccillo and Veerus & Maxie Devine. Roger then moves up a gear with the Party selection, where exclusives roll in from Terry Viether & Per QX, Chris Kaeser, Jesse Garcia, Tiko’s Groove, Da Hool and Zenker, and Martin Accorsi. Is it sexy and funky? Yes! Is it as emotive as it is electronic? Most definitely! Are these the biggest tracks on the dancefloor for the S-Man, with fresh international names, hot new producers and cool remixers? Hell yeah! Long live the magic of ‘El Mariachi’, and welcome to Release Yourself Volume 8! {tab=Video}
