{tab=About Abel Ramos}

When a house music legend like Roger Sanchez names his Breakthrough DJ/Producer of 2009, it’s time to sit up and take notice – meet Abel Ramos.

Born in February 1973 and raised in Madrid, Abel started DJing at a local club, aged just 15, playing anything that was synth-driven from Human League to Nitzer Ebb or Acid House.

It didn’t take long for Abel to establish himself as one of Spain’s most talented DJs, catching the ears of thousands along the way and winning awards such as Best National DJ from Spain’s answer to Mixmag, ‘Deejay Magazine’, gaining top gigs for the likes of Sensation, Rock In Rio, Global Gathering, and frequenting places as far afield as Australia. Abel has also established his SOLO event, which now attracts over 5000 people to the yearly show.

Not content with just playing the music of his heroes to local fans, Abel started producing music, which meant his sound could now reach audiences outside of the Spanish borders. It wasn’t long before Abel’s hard, techy beats were catching the attention of producers and labels throughout the world, including Swedish hotshot Axwell, who signed one of his first productions, ‘Rotterdam City of Love’ to his label, Axtone, after hearing the track being played in a club in Madrid. This track really opened up Abel’s sound to a generation of new producers: the groove just worked on the floor and everybody wanted a piece of the action.

Axwell was also instrumental in getting Abel’s remix of Fatboy Slim’s ‘Right Here, Right Now’ signed to Skint, as the Swedish House Mafia were playing it continuously in their sets. Soon label head of Skint, Dave Philpot, was being bombarded with requests to license the track and he requested a copy to play to Norman Cook, who liked it so much he decided to give it an official release.

Then when Abel didn’t think it was possible for things to get any better, an email arrived in his inbox from David Guetta, expressing how much he liked his work and asking him if he would be interested in remixing two of his tracks, ‘When Love Takes Over’ and ‘Sexy Bitch’. Both went on to sell thousands of copies around the world, making Abel one of the most in-demand remixers in the world.

Not content with setting dancefloors on fire with his DJing skills and productions, Abel also infects the radio waves, hosting a weekly radio program called Concept Music on one of Spain’s most popular radio stations, LocaFM.

2010 has been a year loaded with work for Abel Ramos. Following his intense workload as remixer, he has finally set aside valuable time in the study to concentrate on his own production’s. This material will mainly be released on his With Love Music, imprint in collaboration with Spinnin’Records. The first release “Dream Come True” featuring UK vocalist Erire has captivated the attention of many of his peers.
Some of the highlights so far have been his productions for Toolroom, King Street Sound, Juicy Music and Nervous, as remixer and the releasing original material.
Not forgetting his Dj performances around the globe appearances at festivals and clubs such as Rock In Madrid, Global Gathering Poland, Amnesia Ibiza, Stereo Montreal, Queen Paris, Space Miami, Roxy Prague or Discotheque Moscow, to name a few. In addition to realizing his first tour in Brazil with 10 performances at some of the best clubs in the country.
With all the above already to his name, like the S-Man predicted, Abel is more than capable of making it to the top.

It’s gonna be a long hot summer in 2011, but Keith Urban’s Get Closer Tour is headed to DC to relieve some of that humid with some cool country! Keith Urban’s July event at the Verizon Center will be one of the biggest of the year. He’s done it all from the Grammy’s to the American Music Awards and everything in between. He’s easily one of the hottest stars in country right now!
{tab=Video}

{tab=Music}

{tab=About Keith Urban}
For Keith Urban’s sixth studio album, Get Closer, the singer-songwriter dives even deeper into the explorations of love and relationships that have established him as one of the world’s biggest country music stars—while also extending his rock & roll side, as his hard-charging guitar work reaches new heights. The album is the follow-up to 2009’s Grammy-winning and platinum selling Defying Gravity, which entered Billboard’s pop and country charts at Number One, and spun off five Top Ten hits, including the chart-toppers “Sweet Thing” and “Only You Can Love Me This Way.”

For Urban, the songs on the new album build on ideas that he introduced the last time around. “On Defying Gravity I started touching upon the theme of the courage to love,” he says. “It’s all well and good to say, ‘I can’t find anybody to love, I wish I could find someone to love.’ But do I have the courage to love? Am I willing to open my heart and give the sword to my partner and go, ‘All right, I trust you, absolutely and completely?’ ”

The ambition for Get Closer is made explicit right on the cover. “The title is multifaceted,” says Urban, “because my instincts have always been to run from things that are good for me, to run from love. I have always run from intimacy, and marriage has been a real awakening for me in looking at that very differently. That’s what the title really refers to.”

New Zealand-born and Australia-raised, Keith Urban moved to Nashville in 1992. His first American album came as a member of The Ranch (1997), followed by an increasingly accomplished series of multi Platinum-selling solo albums: Keith Urban (1999), Golden Road (2002), Be Here (2004), and Love, Pain & the whole crazy thing (2006). The compilation Greatest Hits: 19 Kids (2008) included such Number One hits as “But For The Grace Of God,” “Somebody Like You” (which was named the top country song of the decade), “Who Wouldn’t Wanna Be Me,” “You’ll Think Of Me,” “Days Go By,” “Making Memories Of Us,” “Better Life,” and “You Look Good In My Shirt.”

Urban has been honored with Grammy Awards, Country Music Association Awards, Academy of County Music Awards, a People’s Choice Award, American Music Award and Australia’s coveted Aria Award. His remarkable musical gifts have also brought him to places where country superstars have rarely gone before, including such very recent appearances as a blazing rendition of the Rolling Stones’ classic “Tumblin’ Dice” on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, a powerful rendition of “Lean on Me” alongside Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow on the Hope for Haiti telethon and a CMT Crossroads taping with John Mayer.

Yet as Get Closer illustrates, rather than rely on formula, Urban continues to innovate with his music. The sound of the album expands the contrast between old and new styles that has underpinned much of his previous work. “I love using drum machines when I write,” he says, ” and I love the juxtaposition of a great, funky ’80s drum machine with a banjo. Merging those instruments together was something I was really drawn to—we got to a certain point on the record, but I’d like to keep exploring it more.”

Some of the sonic experimentation, though, was the result of more than just creative ambition. “I used a lot of new guitars this time, because all of mine got lost in the (middle Tennessee) flood,” says Urban. “It was a real blessing in the end, because it got me out of my comfort zone, and I was really focused on making music, and not what we were making it with. I borrowed a few guitars, bought a couple of amps on eBay, and just sort of embraced it—that whatever we’ve got to work with, we’re gonna make it work.”

Produced with long-time collaborator Dann Huff, Get Closer blends such chugging rockers as “Long Hot Summer” or the first single, “Put You in a Song,” with more emotionally complex and nuanced compositions like “Right on Back to You” and “Luxury of Knowing.”* Urban considers “Luxury,” written by Lori McKenna, an especially rich selection. “I love that song, because it’s written from such a unique, open-ended, unsettling place,” he says. “I look for songs that people are going to feel something towards—like, ‘I’m not in that place now, but I’ve very much been in that place.’ I’m trying to find those songs that connect with people.”

Urban worked with such previous co-writers as Sarah Buxton, Darryl Brown and Richard Marx on Get Closer. But it was a song by two Nashville writers that captured Urban’s own experiences with remarkable precision. “‘Without You’ really is my life story,” he says, with some disbelief. “It’s crazy—the fast cars and the guitars and the little girl coming along. It’s just an amazing song, and I never would have allowed myself to write it.”

As the happy accident of that song indicates, the album’s creation was less a matter of Urban chasing a theme than it was staying open to songs that revealed where he is in his own life. “This wasn’t a conscious sort of journey for me,” he says. “It was just writing and writing and finding songs that speak to me at this time. I looked for songs that represented all different facets of relationships, but the end result is always stay together, get closer, don’t run. The guy in “Right On Back To You” has driven off—but he’s pulled over and gone, ‘I always do this. This is ridiculous because I love this girl, what am I doing?’ So he turns around and he goes back. They’re all just reconciling with the need to get closer to intimacy.”

The magic of Get Closer, then, isn’t a result of what happened when Keith Urban was in the recording studio; it’s about all the other hours of the day. “I just think there’s more love in this album, and that permeated everything and made the music deeper,” he says. “I loved making this record. I felt a tremendous sense of balance in my life, as a husband and a father and a musician who gets to go and try to capture all that and harness it and create something.”

Matt Goldman is climbing the ladder to success, escalator style. From the moment he began, it was clear he had a natural affinity for spinning records. In just over a year, he has gone from complete unknown to opening for superstar DJ’s such as Afrojack, Kaskade, Max Vangeli, Funkagenda, and Thomas Gold.

Kicking off the summer with a bang, Matt won a global competition to open for Tiesto at the DC Armory in front of a sold out 10,000 person audience. He has recently gained mass recognition amongst the EDM world, due in part to his budding relationship with Avicii, performing alongside the Swedish sensation at four sold out shows in 2010.

Matt has quickly established a name for himself on the east coast, with regular bookings at prestigious clubs such as Glow Washington DC and Pacha NYC. He has appeared in many college towns across the country, and his mixes can now be heard blaring at parties anywhere from NYU to USC. Matt’s sound, a combination of uplifting house with dark and heavy underground beats, has won over discerning house music lovers and newcomers to the scene alike.

DC loves Cosmic Gate. The fact that they brought Wippenberg just makes it that much better! Every time they come to Glow, DC nightlife is out strong, and for good reason! Cosmic Gate pumps us up like no one else!
{tab=About Cosmic Gate}
Introduction: Over 11 boundary-pushing years, Nic Chagall and Bossi have developed Cosmic Gate into one of the most creative and highly-sought-after electronic music acts on the planet. Revered uber-producers, their combined musical acumen has made them evergreen favourites of trance music’s highest echelon. Four hugely-received albums have transported tracks like ‘Not Enough Time’, ‘Body of Conflict’, ‘Analog Feel’, ‘F.A.V.’ and classics including ‘Exploration of Space’ and Fire Wire onto a now uncountable number of dancefloors. As DJs, the effortless cool of their kinetic, enthralling live sets are seen by hundreds of thousands of club and festival goers annually. It’s this perfect storm of production and spinning power that saw them become the highest-climbers in DJ Mag’s 2009 Top 100 chart and land at no. 24 in 2010.

The pair first collaborated in the studio after a chance meeting late in ’98 at a label office in Cologne. It’s a production partnership that has become one of the dance world’s most successful. In their homeland of Germany, they’ve maintained a consistent level of chart success, with no fewer than 7 Top 40 singles to their name and claimed a UK top 10 hit with ‘Fire Wire’. Drawing on a broad-range of their individual musical tastes and inspirations, they’ve continued to modify and enhance their sound…

Following up the long-players ‘Rythm & Drums’ and ‘No More Sleep’, in 2006 they released ‘Earth Mover’, which saw a shift towards edgier, more expansive electronic dance music. It gave rise to the club hits ‘Analog Feel’, ‘Should Have Known’ and ‘I Feel Wonderful’ and garnered an IDMA nomination for Best Album of 2007. Latterly this was viewed by the press as a new ‘Year-1’ for Cosmic Gate. Three years later Nic and Bossi released their much-anticipated followup. ‘Sign of the Times’ contained 11 new tracks including vocal anthems ‘Body of Conflict’ & ‘Not Enough Time’ (featuring Denise Rivera and Emma Hewitt respectively) and the singles ‘F.A.V.’, ‘Flatline’, ‘Under Your Spell’, ‘London Rain’ and title track ‘Sign Of The Times’. The response to the album was nothing short of meteoric. They received a Best Selling Trance Act nomination in the 2010 Beatport Awards; scored an IDMA nom for ‘Not Enough Time’ and were catapulted 43 places up DJ Mag’s 2009 chart. In light of its extraordinary level of success, in September 2010 a double-disc Deluxe Edition of the album was released which included all the singles remixes and exclusive, specially prepared revamps of other S.O.T.T. tracks.

As DJs Nic and Bossi continue to whip floors to frenzy-level in all four corners. Most recently they’ve rocked some of America’s most prominent events – Electric Zoo, The Electric Daisy Festival, Audiotistic and Perfecto Night in Las Vegas among them. They’ve brought mayhem to Ibiza’s 2010 season with hugely received performances at Armada at Amnesia and Judgement Sundays, played mammoth the Global Gathering festival in Russia and headlined Godskitchen’s tours in Australia and Mexico. They’ve appeared in DJ Magazine’s list of Top 100 spinners for 7 consecutive years now and are regular festival attraction, spinning at events like Trance Energy, Mysteryland and Dance Valley in Holland, Smirnoff Experience in India and on the horizon Future Music in Australia in 2011.

Back2Back, Cosmic Gate’s on-going compilation series was devised as an at-home audioexpo of the pair’s club-wowing sound. 2010 saw the release of the 4th volume (through Holland’s highly-respected Black Hole Recordings label). Bringing Bossi and Nic’s tight, tense, futureproofed trance/prog/electro hybrid to the forefront, it once again included many of their own track edits.

Over their production lifetime, the Cosmic Gate remix has become nearly as illustrious as their productions. Essentially a blow-by-blow of trance music’s A-list, Nic and Bossi have lent their studio know-how to productions from Armin van Buuren, Tiësto, Ferry Corsten, Paul van Dyk,
Above & Beyond’s OceanLab project, Deadmau5 & Rank 1. They rewired John O’Callaghan’s mega-seller ‘Find Yourself’ to devastating effect and produced remixes of veteran trance producer Vincent De Moor’s ‘Fly Away’ and ‘Carte Blanche’ (Veracocha). In early 2010 Atlantic Records US approached them to remix James Horner’s ‘I See You’ – the main theme from the film Avatar. This run culminated in them being nominated for Best Remixer at the 2010 IDMAs. Most recently they have completed remixes for Robbie Rivera and Markus Schulz.
{tab=About Wippenberg}
One of the biggest rising stars in the Electronic Dance Music scene, and creator of the club
hits “Chakalaka” and “Pong”!

Genre-warping electronic music adventurer Wippenberg (a.k.a. Olaf Dieckmann) has been supplying the world’s dancefloors with audio titans for close to 15 years. Most recently renowned for his neoclassical- anthems „Chakalaka“ and „Pong“, later receiving IDMA 2010 nomination as Best Progressive House Track alsongside David Guetta and Deadmau5. Wippenberg’s music hazes the
multiple boundaries of house, electro, trance and techno. This unique composite electronic blend
is now spun by the widest imaginable cross-section of DJs. He’s championed as much by Eric
Prydz, Angelo, Ingrosso & Axwell (also known as the Swedish House Mafia), as he is by Tiësto,
Armin Van Buuren and David Guetta. This casts Wippenberg as one of, if not, the most diverse
DJ/producer in today’s EDM universe.

In 2004 Wippenberg released the two ‘Elemental EPs’, which included the tracks ‘Fire’, ‘Water’,
‘Earth’ and ‘Air’. They drew strong support from the highest echelons of the DJ hierarchy and
pushed the Wippenberg name firmly into the headlines. The EPs release prompted close associates Cosmic Gate to collaborate with Wippenberg on their ‘Earth Mover’ album with the track ‘Guess Who’. Around the same time he completed work on his next single ‘Promised Land’, and with it came a new label relationship with Dutch heavyweight independent High Contrast Records. The track (which featured the vocals of Tiff Lacey and was remixed by Nic Chagall) beat the drum hard for what was to prove his renaissance record.

In 2008 ‘Chakalaka’ (partnered by the B-side ‘Drumster’) exploded into the clubbing consciousness, thanks in no small part to major 3 monthlong floor and radio hammering from Tiësto and Armin Van Buuren. As was always Wippenberg’s desire the tracks started to chip away at the stylistic borders of dance and came to enjoy heavy deck support from Sebastian Ingrosso, Eric Prydz, Eric Morillo and Dirty South, amongst a multitude of others. The track maintained a grip on the No.1 chart position on Beatport for an incredible 12 weeks. Late that year and branching further out still, Wippenberg launched a new nom-de-plume Sphaera. The tracks ‘Front & ‘Back’ were released on
Black Hole Records to, once again, broad DJ acclaim.

Famously, Wippenberg carved his name deep into the heart of the mid-90s dancefloor with his very
first track – the unforgettable, speaker-assaulting ‘Neurodancer’. Released on Hyper Hype, it
became an import smash and was picked up by Hooj Choons off-shoot Prolekult. To this day
‘Neurodancer’ rests as one of the hardest-to-find and most in-demand pieces of dance vinyl in the
world – regularly changing hands for many times its original price.
No Wippenberg biography would be complete without mention of Wippenberg’s remix and spinning work. Behind the decks his characteristic musical taste, which can be categorised into one certain genre, as he loves the freedom to mix different stlyes, has started to generate huge demand.

Meanwhile he is touring all around the world from Germany to Russia, from Australia to Brazil, even
the people of India or Qatar fell in love with the Wippenberg sound. It has seen him blaze a trail at
Europe’s leading festival events like Trance Energy, Mayday or Mysteryland and rock at Armin Van
Buuren’s ASOT400, as well as dozens of other, clubs, festivals and tent-poles events.
At the remix end of the mixing desk, Wippenberg has refashioned countless tracks of A-List
production outfits, like Sebastian Ingrosso’s MGMT ‘Kids’ sampling classic-tune „Kidsos“ and
Rank 1’s Trance Energy 2009 anthem ‘L.E.D. There Be Light’. But he also refined releases from
Tiësto, Tocadisco, Above & Beyond, Paul Van Dyk, Cosmic Gate, Gabriel & Dresden, and
Super8 & Tab. Most recently he remixed danish high-flyer Aura Dione’s new single „Song For
Sophie“ and gave her pop-ballade a classy progressive house outfit.

For his new single he teamed up with nobody else than Nic Chagall and Rank 1. Together they
created the track „100“ (which is also the 100th release of the label High Contrast). It has the typical
Rank 1 anthem signature, Nic Chagall’s progressive trance feeling and Wippenberg’s progressive
beats. Out on 14th June 2010, this is going to bet he next ueber-track from Wippenberg! Watch out!
