This is going to be huge even for dance music in Washington, DC. If you rarely go out, if you go out to bars more than dc clubs or if you don’t really go to electronic dance music events… This is one time where exceptions must be made. Kaskade is one of those artists who transcends genre. It doesn’t matter if you like metal or minimal, you will love Kaskade. Be sure to come early this Saturday, as the lines outside Fur Nightclub are sure to wrap around the building.
College Night is bringing the heat to the start of the week, every Tuesday at Lima Restaurant and Lounge! But I must stress, this isn’t your ordinary college party at some crappy dive bar. Lima is one of the finest clubs in DC, and its college night is top-notch.
You won’t find many venues like this in the DC area, that’s for sure. Glass walls, stainless steel decor, hardwood accents, LED lighting, granite bars, lavish seating, and modern decor highlight the best aspects of Lima’s design.
Inside, you’ll find three beautiful floors, with a chill lounge and bar on the first floor, the big dancefloor downstairs with DJ Tektronics playing the best in top 40 and dance, and the latin dancefloor upstairs! Outside, you’ll find the tented patio, complete with couches, ottomans, and tables, so you can take a quick break from the party and hang outside.
The best part is that you don’t even have to pay cover to get in! Because you’re smart and read this thing all the way through, you’ll click on this link here to get your free pass straight from us, the party hosts.
College Night every Tuesday at Lima Restaurant and Lounge DC is open to ages 18+, proper ID and attire is required. Lima is located at 1401 K St NW Washington DC. Drink Specials include $3 Bud Lights + $5 Stoli Redbulls. VIP table service is also available.
Definitely one of the best names around; Adam Walder AKA Funkagenda has been releasing straight bangers for 6 years now. Tracks you definitely know include the ever-popular “What the Fuck,” the track “Nobody Listens to Techno,” which samples an Eminem lyric that the song is named from, as well as collaborations with Mark Knight which include “Good Times” and their re-work of the classic “Man With the Red Face.” The funky one has also released tons of remixes for artists like Chris Lake, Radiohead, Robbie Rivera, Swedish House Mafia, Daft Punk and Wally Lopez. He works with everyone.
You seriously need to come to this event. Now is when DJs begin to make their initial campaigns for the DJ Magazine Top 100. It’s the push before summer. The festival circuit is coming up, then Ibiza, then it’s time to vote. Coming off the best British breakthrough artist award, Funkagenda is out to show the world why he is the #1 rising star from one of the most dance music-savvy nations in the world. We’re truly lucky to have Funkagenda gracing the decks; Fur is going to be absolutely nuts!
The weekend is already in full swing at Ultrabar and time to party and let loose. The best place to do it is at Ultrabar nightclub DC, which hosts “Chroma” Saturdays every weekend. The place is awesome, with 6 lavish bars on 5 gorgeous floors, with 4 bangin DJs, all in 1 great club. Jam to the old school in the basement, hit up the main floor for the best in top 40, hip hop, and dance, go up the stairs to the bedroom to catch the best in latin music, and find your way to the VIP for the house and international!
I’m so glad the weekend is here. Its been a long week at work, and I’m ready to ditch the books, blow off the work, get the crew together, and head out for a night on the town. Our favorite place has always been Ultrabar, and there’s nothing in DC quite like their Ladies Night either!
Unlike most other clubs in DC, they don’t hold the line here, making you wait like an asshole out in front. I mean yeah, there’s a little wait because it does take a little time to ID and search hundreds of people, but they do a great job, all things considered. It took only a few minutes to get in.
I skipped the cover charge using the pass from the promoters [posted below], and we made it in time to hit the open bar. It was pretty cool to not pay cover, not wait in line, and not pay for drinks. That’s pretty cool. Word to the wise, show up early! They only do the open bar from 9-10. I showed up at 9:15. Sounds a bit early, but hey, its open bar, who can say ‘no’ to that?
The music was great, four dancefloors with four djs made for an interesting night. Had a lot of fun dancing, and met a lot of cool people. I gotta say, the guy in the basement does a really damn good job. Even though its the smallest room in the club, this guy just absolutely bangs it out. It was great. They should definitely give that guy a raise, he’s really good!
