“Dentist by day, DJ by night.” Eddie Thoneick has had an amazing run. From a successful dental practice in his native Germany to a successful music career across the globe, there’s not much more the guy could ask for.

A student of the guitar, bass, piano and drums, it’s sort of ridiculous to think where he found the time to go to dental school. Or is it ridiculous he found the time to produce music? Sorry we keep talking about it, it’s just, where have you ever heard of something like this? Seriously… we’ve heard of hobbies, but a hobby that turns you into a world-famous DJ/Producer? You are the man Eddie.

And what makes things that much better is that his music is amazing! And it gets more and more amazing every year. The first time we heard Eddie Thoneick was his track ‘Freak’N You,’ which sampled 90’s R&B crooner Jodeci’s song of the same name. Since that time Eddie has progressed, evolved and reached the tipping point of mega stardom. His slew of releases this year, including the smash hit ‘Live Your Life,’ with Eric Morillo are, each and every one, house music gems.

We’ve seen German trance rise to the occasion through PvD and Cosmic Gate, we’ve seen German techno take flight through M-nus and now Eddie’s soulful yet thumping brand of house will bring Germany’s grip on EDM full circle.
Thursday will be sublime. Don’t miss it!!

Listening to Eddie Thoneick is akin to being grabbed by a musical whirlwind. Brilliantly crafting rhythms, soaring house vocals and diving, filthy electro beats. Eddie has a passion for the dance floor and the music that surrounds it that goes beyond infectious. Whether it’s ripping it up in the mix or delivering yet another sensational new production, it’s nigh on impossible to sit still once he’s got hold of you.

Although immersed in making music since he can remember, the real break-through for Eddie came in 2006 when his track ‘Love Sensation’ grabbed the attention of the great, the good and the almighty. Going head to head with Kurd Maverick, the pair came up with a dance floor destroyer that received support from the likes of Axwell, Erick Morillo, Pete Tong and Joachim Garraud. Eddie Thoneick was alive and kicking, and he wasn’t about to let go.

2007 saw him team up with emerging Dutch talent Berget Lewis, covering the C&C Music Factory classic, ‘Deeper Love’. Breaking straight into the notoriously hard UK market with all the ease of a hot knife through butter, ‘Deeper Love’ further established Eddie as ‘one to watch’. A title often thrown about with gay abandon but with Eddie, it seems increasingly to be the case. The fact was only underlined when in August of the same year, influential French broadcaster Radio FG gave Eddie his own weekly prime-time slot. Eddie’s sound was suddenly reaching the ears of millions – and there were big names listening. Remix requests began pouring in. Moby, Fedde le Grand, Sebastian Ingrosso & Steve Angello, David Guetta and more came knocking on Eddie’s door to get the unmistakable Thoneick touch.

It was a natural progression then when Eddie signaled his intention to create his own imprint. TONIK-rcrdngs was born and today features Eddie’s own work plus a growing collection of hot talent like Kurd Maverick, David Tort, Dons, DBN, Joachim Garraud, who share the same infectious vision for music as the man himself. The label’s first release ‘Freak N You’ received huge feedback and set the tone for things to come. Now ‘Don’t Let Me Down’ is doing the same, it’s high-octane energetic style bringing in elements of disco, rave, electro and pure uplifting vocal house music that feels like water from an oasis in a desert full of dry tech-elec-minimal nonsense that does nothing for the soul.

With his sound winning him fans in droves, it may have been a startling rise towards the top, but it’s one that shows absolutely no signs of slowing down.

2010 saw the release of Eddie’s track ‘Funk’ on Subliminal Records, the famous imprint of his early supporter Erick Morillo. On top of that, Eddie was invited to mix and arrange the „Strictly Miami 2010“ compilation for Strictly Rhythm. Today Eddie is not only part of the Subliminal Records family as a solo artist, but has even teamed up with label head Erick Morillo for a giant collaboration. The duo’s first output is ‘Nothing Better’, a classy piece of peaktime house music with the divine Shena on the vocals. With more Erick Morillo & Eddie Thoneick productions in the pipeline and a tour-diary that continues to expand, taking in cities across a landscape of continents from Asia and Australia to North America, South America and Europe, the word lies at Eddie’s feet for the taking.

As one – half of legendary DC house duo Deep Dish, Sharam and partner in crime Dubfire are responsible for bringing Washington, DC’s electronic music scene to the forefront of global dance music. According to Rolling Stone Magazine, “The Deep Dish sound personifies cool.” That pretty much says it all, doesn’t it? With their respective solo careers now in full stride, Sharam and Dubfire are rediscovering what it means to take over the world.

With the release of his debut album last year, Sharam set himself apart from anything he’s ever done before. He has defined his own sound, which has been described as “soulful dance music with striking vocals.” His rework of the RIck James – produced Eddie Murphy hit ‘Party All The Time,’ collaboration with Daniel Bedingfield on ‘The One,’ and studio sessions with everyone from Diddy to Tommy Lee are evidence of Sharam’s utterly brilliant creative mind.

As of recent he’s been working feverishly in the studio on some EPs and a new album. He closed with a track from it last time he spun Glow. He also just released his Mach 2 EP featuring ‘One Night’ and ‘M.I.T.T.’

Come celebrate the return of Sharam to his home-base at Glow this Saturday. It’s about to ‘Get Wild’ up in here!!!

Known simply by his first name SHARAM to the world of popular culture, Sharam Tayebi is a Grammy award-winning producer, songwriter, recording artist and DJ. His 18-year career has brought him to the world’s largest music venues and in the studio Sharam remains one of only few dance acts who can effortlessly navigate between the nocturnal world of dance music with underground hits like “Don’t Say A Word” and “Be The Change” while scoring Top 20 Hits internationally with “PATT (Party All The Time)” and “The One” featuring Daniel Bedingfield. He is also the driving force behind the legendary Yoshitoshi label in Washington DC using it as a vehicle to promote newly discovered talent from DC and around the world.

Born in Tehran, Iran, he has called our nation’s capital his home since 1985. And it was there, in the early Nineties, where he met Ali “Dubfire” Shirazinia by chance. They would later form the DJ duo Deep Dish putting the nation’s capital on the map for electronic dance music. Their reputation was cemented with their critically acclaimed debut artist album, Junk Science, followed by their second album, George Is On, which featured the vocals of Stevie Nicks. Simply stated by Rolling Stone magazine, “The Deep Dish sound personifies cool.”

In their time together, the duo re-worked classics from the likes of Madonna and The Rolling Stones to Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson into international club hits, and also crafted the musical backdrop for VERSACE haute couture fashion shows in Milan and Paris. Deep Dish received scores of accolades and awards for their remixes including The Recording Academy recognizing their achievements with four Grammy® nominations and finally the Grammy® Award in 2002 for “Best Remixed Recording” for Dido’s “Thank You.”

None of this would matter unless Sharam’s music connected with people. From performing in front of thousands at the infamous Burning Man event to the most influential venues around the world, dance music purists go crazy for his musical choice and mixing technique, while mainstream audiences recognize Sharam (Persian for Calm City) for creating soulful dance music filled with striking vocals.

After a bountiful career as part of Deep Dish, Sharam became a solo artist in 2008 with the release of his UK top ten hit “PATT (Party All The Time)” — a rigorous rework of an old Eddie Murphy record which was produced by Rick James — followed by his collaboration with Daniel Bedingfield for “The One” and finally his debut double album, Get Wild in 2009. Always with the ambition to be diverse and progressive, Sharam collaborated with the likes of P. Diddy, Tommy Lee, and Chuck D., and even included a Patsy Cline vocal sample to complete this record with its Morricone-inspired Spaghetti Western theme. A serious movie buff, Sharam also made his directorial debut for the album’s single “She Came Along” featuring Kid Cudi.

Now, as Sharam prepares to set the stage for the overall aesthetic of his next album Speed, the avid car enthusiast will be driving a 1970s Dodge Coronet Super Bee Hemi — an all-American muscle car — in this year’s Gumball 3000 Rally. Musically he extends his passion for iconic automobiles with a series of three EPs being released under the “Mach” moniker inspired by the 1970′s Ford Mustang.

A true product of Manhattan’s legendary electronic scene, he has spun at many of The Big Apple’s most legendary nightclubs, including Exit, Roxy and residencies first at Crobar and now Pacha. His high-energy sets are famous for their big drums and bigger builds.

With a career that has spanned over 15 years, Boris has come to represent everything that’s right about house music. His tenure at clubs across the country is matched only by legends such as DJ Dan, Danny Tenaglia and Junior Vasquez. His producing and engineering skills are the crème de la crème in any group of musicians. Boris has worked with a who’s who of music industry mega stars including Janet Jackson, Missy Elliott, Jewel, Pink, Brandy, Usher, Brittney Spears, New Order, Boys to Men, 98 Degrees, Mya, Shania Twain, Salt-n-Peppa, Cindy Lauper, Jordan Knight and numerous others. With a list like that, there isn’t much more that needs to be said.

The rich heritage of New York nightlife is focused on the figure of the resident DJ: The homegrown jock that puts down roots in a single venue, bonds with its crowd, and explores the limits of a DJ set with his faithful. The DJs who flourish in this demanding environment go on to become folk heroes, not only in New York, but all over the world (see Larry Levan, Danny Tenaglia, Junior Vasquez).

DJ Boris started his ascension to these ranks in 2004, when the native of St. Petersburg, Russia took up residence at New York super club Crobar. It was the culmination of years of workhorse gigging at almost every club across the Big Apple. But it was more than that too: It was a movement that has shown no signs of fading.

Boris (birth name: Boris Inzhin) started moonlighting as a DJ while taking classes at the Institute Of Audio Research in New York. With a metronomic mixing ability and a penchant for expansive, groove-based power-house music, the jock quickly found work both in DJ and production booths, playing at clubs like Exit, and Roxy, and remixing artists like Janet Jackson, Jewel and Gloria Estefan. In 2002, his mix of Pink’s “Get This Party Started” hit No.1 on the Billboard Hot Club Play chart.

His relentless approach to bring his cult of followers the best sound and experience possible has taken his production to even greater heights. Powerhouse industry labels like *69 Records, and Stereo Productions have wasted no time in signing Boris projects to their labels. Dancefloor missiles like “Automatic,” “Everybody Tweakin’,” “Lights Go Out,” and Lisa Pure’s “Movin On” have been embraced by a culture of beat aficionados, in and out of the many clubs DJ Boris has grown to call home.

And if home is where your heart is then Boris must be endowed with a heart the size of North America. His movement has rewarded him with residencies in every major city. Now a regular on the city’s club circuit, the name of Boris started to become associated with unapologetically massive music: big drums, big riffs, huge build-ups and lots of energy. Propelled by the promise of a great party experience and by a growing affection for the approachable DJ and his humble manner, his crowd swelled. By the time Boris debuted at mega club Crobar in May 2004, his faithful numbered in the thousands, united under a spontaneously created banner: “Believe in Boris.” Boys stamped it on their T-shirts in masking tape, girls Sharpied it on their flesh, and eventually Crobar flashed it on their video screens: A battle cry for a clubber’s revolution.

While at Crobar, Boris set the 30,000-square-foot club’s attendance record (a swinging-from-the-rafters 5,400), released his first mixed compilation (aptly titled “Believe”), and started to gig regularly outside of NYC, in markets like Miami, and Las Vegas. In 2006, when it became apparent that Crobar would close, Boris uprooted and moved his crowd 20 blocks north to Pacha New York, the first North American branch of the fabled European club brand, without missing a beat. He is still a Pacha resident.

Boris’ faithful service to the clubbers of New York has been rewarded with two Club World Award “Best Resident DJ” nominations (one while at Crobar, and one while at Pacha), a DJ Times cover story, a top 5 finish in the national America’s Best DJ fan poll, and a new residency at super club Space in Miami. Add this to the already accomplished residencies he holds at Rise in Boston, Therapy in Rhode Island, as well as his regular appearances at Ruby Skye in San Francisco, 960 in Connecticut, Deko Lounge in New Jersey. He’s also become one of the reigning kings of Winter Music Conference week, throwing massive pool parties by day and after-hours marathons by night for thousands of fans. The spoils of success have not halted his enthusiastic work ethic either. His ongoing pursuit to creatively, and musically express himself to those who adore him, has no doubtedly outgrown our own country’s limited borders. With his global campaign as New York’s premiere DJ underway, believers can be found from all corners of the planet. Venezuala, Colombia, Marrakech, Barcelona, Madrid, Ibizia, London, Montreal, Mexico, and Toronto have all been blessed with his energetically extreme beat orchestration. Boris and his team are currently planning the release of his fourth mixed compilation, and a series of European, and South American dates to compliment his tremendous ability in the studio.

So world, New York wants to know: Are you ready to believe in Boris?
