This show kicked off fashion week with a bang featuring models wearing recycled blue wrap as outfits. It was a loud, exciting atmosphere with observers buzzing about the upcoming week. This event is sold out every year with people who want to see what the new eco designs is.

TUESDAY: AC/DC DESIGNER FASHION SHOW

Held at the Washington Club in Dupont Circle, the AC/DC Fashion Show had an intimate setting in the second floor ballroom. WEDNESDAY: FASHION IN THE STREETS

Taking a break from the runway, models from the DC Fashion Week staff walked the streets in Chinatown promoting the event and performed a flash mob dance while wearing black DC Fashion Week T-shirts.

THURSDAY: FASHION INDUSTRY NETWORK PARTY

Changing up the vibe at Dirty Bar in Midtown, Fashion Week designers showed off their bathing suit collections. Accessories were featured during the event such as jewelry, hats and bags from various vendors such as House of Jola and Aphropolitan.  Meanwhile, bloggers, stylists, models, designers, media, retail, photographers and modeling agencies exchanged business cards and networked all night while sipping on cocktails.

FRIDAY: SOUTH ASIAN DESIGNER SHOWCASE

Dominating the scene at Indique Heights, the South Asian Designer collections proved to be unique enough to have their own night to shine. Firefly collections more specifically came out with very wearable clothing infused with pieces such as bright colored scarves or a vivid colored jacket.

SATURDAY: EMERGING DESIGNER SHOWCASE

Held at the Washington post conference center with boutiques like Nubian hueman exhibiting and selling their own personal items, the Emerging Designer Showcase featured a very diverse show of clothing. sPACYcLOUd, with their loud and vibrant jackets, was shown on this night and impressed the crowd with their unpredictable style. Heydari, one of the favorites of the night, factored in some Lady Gaga songs to match the out-of-this-world outfits that were worn.

SUNDAY: THE GRAND FINALE AT THE EMBASSY OF FRANCE

For those who missed the fashion shows that were held during the week, attendance on Sunday’s grand event was a must. Every collection was put on the runway back to back for a final recap.  During the show, music ranged from underground heavy beats to upbeat house and dance music, making the crowd want to stand up and dance. The Embassy of France kindly held a reception before and afterwards where event goers were able to shop from vendors selling vibrant jewelry, handbags and handmade clothing.
