Since 1993, the Washington Regional Alcohol Program’s (WRAP) “SoberRide” program has provided over 52,000 free rides home to people in the DC area who have had too much to drink during the holidays.
How to Get Your Free Ride
Hours of operation: 10:00 pm to 6:00 am
- Call 1-800-200-8294 (TAXI) or (#8294 on an AT&T wireless phone) during program hours. An operator will direct your request to the correct participating cab company.
- Must be 21 or older.
- Fare must not exceed $30 to qualify for a free ride. Callers are responsible for anything over $30.
- All calls must originate in the District of Columbia, Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties in Maryland, or Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Eastern Loudoun Counties in Virginia.
- Note: You cannot scheduled a SoberRide pickup in advance.
